My Star must Shine is a book written for the person who wants to leave a mark in this life. It is a book for the one who wants to be remembered for greatness and not mediocrity. It is a book for the one who believes they can do all things and can become what God has purposed them to be.
The book proves that anyone can achieve excellence and shine brighter than now. The author has made it simple throughout the chapters for the reader to discover his divine mandate. He also expatiates on how the reader can be successful in what God has purposed for him. He has given very biblical and practical examples to prove that if you do not shine no one is responsible but you.
Through this book, there is no doubt about it, that if you practice the principles that are laid out you will surely come out shining. I have every confidence that with this book coming from the heart of a great servant of God, you are about to turn a corner in your life, a turning that will unfold the star in you to shine. The author is eminently qualified to write a book on Shining Stars because he is one himself. I have interacted deeply and widely with him in the last 25 years and observed him to be a forward moving, shining star-like personality. He is an unstoppable moving train. Of all the great things I observed and know about him, perhaps the most outstanding one is that he does not recognise obstacles and problems and he does not talk about them. He only talks about possibilities. That is a natural extension of his complete faith in God and what God can do. I have had causes to use him as an example in my lectures, sermons and discussions many times. I am glad that at last he has decided to put down some of the secrets in the form of a book. The book, My Star Must Shine, by Prof. Onafowokan Oluyombo, illuminates and deconstructs the mysteries of stardom and the advantages of glowing as a star in such a time as this. He amplifies the fact, and indeed the truth, that divine contact, supernatural speed, heavenly assistance and appropriation of God's perception and perspective on issues are critical to stardom realisation. I am particularly fascinated by chapters three and four that situate, not only what needs to be done to get to the top in life, but also, the various platforms of excellent operation. To be a candidate of God's glorious manifestation, you must resist the devil, have a robust relationship with the everlasting God and master due seasons and divine timing. The writer makes it clear that excellence and fulfilment are not resident only in one profession or sphere of influence, but rather, they are operational in career/business, finance, family, the economy and many others. In a national context like ours, where, unfortunately, mediocrity, unemployment and poverty are streamed live everywhere, people are beginning to lose confidence in themselves. While many youths and adults are stagnated, some have even gone into depression. This publication therefore becomes a timely intervention and morale boosting instrument, more so, that the thoughts documented are scripturally and contemporarily validated. I recommend this book to everyone who believes in the ability of God to change things around for the better. And like the author also stresses in his concluding chapter, the time to start shining as a Star is NOW.
